Case No. 2:07-cv-03916-JHN-VBKx (C.D. Cal.) (U.S. District Court for the Central
District of California, Western Division.)
You may be a Settlement Class Member if you paid for premium text message charges
in connection with entering the “American Idol Challenge” aired on the show “American
Idol,” and did not win a prize. You could be entitled to benefits under a class
action settlement which will include a full refund of the premium text message charges
you paid.
The “American Idol Challenge Game” ONLY ran during the period between February
2007 and May 2007. Viewers had the option of entering via text or online for a chance
to win a prize. If you believe you participated in the “American Idol Challenge
Game” and were charged premium text message fees for your entry, you may be a Class
Member. You are NOT a Class Member if you participated in the game but did
not pay a premium text charge, or participated in the game but entered online.
Please be aware that the “American Idol Challenge Game” is NOT the same as
voting via text message for your favorite contestant and does NOT have anything
to do with any DVD or video games produced or sold with the American Idol name. Voting for a contestant on American Idol does NOT make you a class member.
